Tregosa is a peaceful yet central base, perfect for mixing lazy pool days with family outings. The Minho beaches at Esposende and Ofir are about 20 minutes away by car — wide stretches of sand and calm sea, ideal for a day with buckets and spades. Viana do Castelo and the Santa Luzia viewpoint are around 25 minutes, and Braga and Bom Jesus about 30, with staircases and gardens children love.
For nature lovers, the Peneda-Gerês National Park is about an hour away — wonderful for a walk among waterfalls. Closer to home, Barcelos (15 minutes) hosts its famous market and the legendary rooster. There's also Ponte de Lima 30 minutes away and Guimarães 45, for days steeped in history.
