Viana do Castelo and the Santa Luzia viewpoint are about 25 minutes off, and Braga with its Bom Jesus sanctuary around 30 minutes — both with lively nightlife for anyone wanting to head out in the evening.
For more adventurous groups, the Peneda-Gerês National Park is about an hour away, great for rafting, waterfalls and a shot of adrenaline before heading back to the pool.
